Plexus allows organisations to excel at detailed planning and project management through a software tool named Plexus and an associated methodology that makes the whole process systematic and coordinates the contributions of potentially hundreds of participants.

Organisations no matter how large and sophisticated, find this collaborative and intellectual exercise very difficult to coordinate across both internal and external interfaces with suppliers. This is especially true for the technologically complex products developed in the Aerospace and Defence industry.

Part of the problem is that conventional tools assume that integrated plans become magically available for data entry and they therefore focus almost exclusively on execution and control - the Gantt chart becomes king! These tools do not help the creative part of planning and they do little to facilitate the smooth flow of information during execution. This is because:

• the flows are not captured and optimised in the first place
• the participants cannot easily understand what information they must exchange, its quality, when it is needed and why it is needed

Part of the solution is to bridge the functionality chasm discussed above, with Plexus and the good methodology it enables. The rest is behavioural and this too can be addressed by implementing Plexus.
